Kenong Rimba Park shares the same eastern and northern boundaries with Taman Negara. This scenic valley traversed by rippling mountains is home to the aborigines of the Bateq tribe. Within the park is a string of limestone caves beneath which the Kenong River flows.

As an unspoiled tropical forest haven, Kenong Rimba Park nestles amidst the lush green vegetation, offering spectacular adventures for eco-tourism enthusiasts. Here is where the jungle has slept for 130 million years, unaffected by the ice age, which covered the northern hemisphere. Here is where the flora and fauna have the opportunity to evolve into exotic and unique species.

Kenong Rimba Park boasts a complex network of caves, each with its own unique geological formation and fascinating legend. The most captivating is none other than the Gua Batu Tinggi, the habitat of a variety of wild orchids. Some of the more notable caves are Gua Batu Tangga, Gua Batu Tangkup and Gua Batu Telahup.

Kenong Rimba Park is dominated by lowland forests and riverine vegetation. Epiphytic vegetation such as ferns and wild orchids are abundant here. Also in abundance are gigantic ficus tree, which is popularly featured in many Malay folklores, proverbs and rhymes.

The park is a haven to bird watchers and nature lovers. It is home to about 200 species of wild birds. White-rumped shama is praised by bird lovers for their singing ability. Occasionally, helmeted hornbills and black hawk-eagles make their presence felt.

If ever there is life in harmony with nature, then you are sure so close to that experience. Tropical paradise is what they say is man's last resort retreat on earth. So get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
